BEQUESTS FROM ESTATE. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright;. (Received this day at 11 a.m.) LONDON, September 17. James Barrie left £173,402. He bequeathed £30,000 to Lady Cynthia Asquith, his secretary, and also his rights, plays, and books, except Peter Panj which was already assigned to the hospital for sick children, £3OOO each to his brothers, £2OOO to Elizabeth Bergner, creator of the part “Boy David,” for the best performance ever given any plays. Numerous other bequests included £OOO to William Winter, and £SOO to the New Zealand Victoria- Cross holder, Freyberg. Lady Asquith and Air Peter Davis divide the residue of the estate. Barrie bequeathed £IOOO and an annuity of £6OO “to my dear Mary Cannon with affectionate regards.” She was his former wife.
