OBITUARY

The death has occurred in England of the Rt Rev John Manverring Steward, a former Bishop of Meh.rn.sii.

The death of Ur. Thomas MasaryK was received with profound regret in Britain. In 191,0 he settled in London, and was appointed professor at Xing’s College, London. His work for Czechoslovakia aroused warm sympathy in Britain.

The death too place at Onniaru last night of Mrs Barbara Laurenson, after a short illness. Deceased was horn at Knkanui, Otago, and was ;3 years of age. She leaves a family of seven, Mr Lyall Laurenson of Hokitika, and Mrs R. W. Cooper of Wataroa, being a son and daughter respectively.
