AUSTRALIAN SLALOM CHAMPIONSHIP. (Australian Press Association). MOUNT KOSCIUSKO, Sept. 13. 1 lie American ski champion, 11. E. Durrance, won the Australian slalom championship on Saturday in brilliant style. In the international match so far the United States team hay gained 100 points, the Australian team 73.91 points.

Miss 1). Allen, of Christchurch, won the Australian women’s slalom championship, with Miss P. Murphy (New Zealand) fourth, Miss J. Beaie (New Zealand). eighth, and Mrs A. B. Edwardes thirteenth. The weather was line and the snow was in good condition. Results were:— Men’s Slalom.—R. E. Durrance (America) 1 ; B. von Ghiserfeld (Czechoslovakia) 2; S. Bradley (America) 3; G. Day (New South Wales) 4; 1). Stogdale (Victoria) 5; B. McMil'an (New Zealand) 0; J. Pattinson (New South Wales) 7.

Women’s Slalom.—Miss D. Allen (New Zealand) 1; Mrs T. Mitchell (Victoria) 2; Miss Gepp (Victoria 3; Miss I*. Murphy (New Zealand) 4; Fiau von Glaserleld (Czechoslovakia) 5; Mrs Tinsley (New South Wales) (i. The Australian (championship ski jump, which was combined with the triangular international event, was held to-day. Durrance again won w.th jumps of 35 and 40 metres. S. Bradley (America) was second. The New Zealanders, If. Wigley and B. McMillan, jumped 25 and 231, and 21 and 21) metres respectively. The Australian. Kaatcn. fell in two attempts. Detailed results have not yet been determined, but the Americans have increased their load in the match.

The langlauf event was won by S. Bradley, with Durrance second. Day third, Kaaten fourth and McMillan seventh. DOWNHILL TITLE. SYDNEY, Sept. 14. At Mount Koskiusko to-day, the Australian downhill skiing championship, combined with the international match and the inter-Domiuion match, was held in brilliant sunshine, and there wore spring snow conditions on the two-mle course, with a 2000 feet descent.

H. Wigley and B. McMillan represented New Zealand in the international match.

Wigley brothers. McMillan, and B. Murphy represented New Zealand in the inter-Dominion event. The New Zealand women’s team were Mrs Edwardes. Miss P. Murphy. Miss B. Allen, and Miss J. Beale, .three to count.

B. Von Glasorfeld. of the Ski G!ul> of Arlberg. won ‘die men’t title in twa minutes forty-seven seconds from the American. Durrance; while G. Day (Australia) was third.

America won the international match.
