TASMAN CROSSING
GOOD TRIP BY WANGANELLA. (Per “Press Association —Copyright) AUCKLAND, September 14. Mainly because she had to cross only the fringe of the storm, the Wanganella, which arrived at Auckland from Sydney, did not experience the severe weather which delayed the Awntea on her way from Sydney to Wellington, and damaged some of the furniture in the men’s smoking-room. The Wanganella met a strong westerly gale and a heavy south-west sea on the first night out from Sydney, but after that the weather moderated, and later became very fine. When the Wanganella arrived in tlie harbour at 11.25 a.m. she was flying flags which indicated infection. The port health officer found a mild case of measles on board, the patient being, a steward. On condition that the patient is isolated and taken back to Sydney, the other passengers were allowed to land when the vessel berthed at 12.30.
