The British United Press correspondent at Santander says three insurgent tribunals are sitting continuously’ trying ninety thousand Santander war prisoners. Death sentences average one in ever.v ten. FRANCO’S PROTEST. (Received this day at 9.40 a.m.) LONDON. September 13. The League Committee received a letter lrom General Franco protesting against the recognition of the Valencia delegation. The Committee decided that the question was not within its scope. BELLVILLE RELEASED HENDAYE, September 11. During a severe storm the destroyer Foresight’s cutter picked up Mi- Rupert Bellville, i' r om Gijon and took him aboard. Hie performance indicates that Gijon is not so closely invested as has j been reported, but there arc numerous faction fights in the streets, and the police force has fled to the mountains.
