A DROWNING

CROSSING FLOODED RIVER (Per Press Association —Copyright). GISBORNE, -September 13. Caught in .the floded Waipu River yesterday afternon, Thomas Lima, married, aged 23, was. swept from Ms horse ana drowned. Deceased had successfully .crossed tho river in the morning and was attempting to return later when the river had risen two feet. A sister saw him in difficulties and the horse later floundered from the river without its rider. A search resulted in the body being found near tlie mouth of the river an hour later.
