AUSTRALIAN OPEN WINNER. (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY. September 12. O. Nnismith, the young Victorian golf professional, won the Australian Open Golf Championship by one stroke, from three other players. Naismith played very steadily throughout. Davies finished before Naismith, but McKay and Walker, playing together, were the last pair to come in. They both needed birdie threes at the last hole to tie with Naismith. McKay’s putt was a couple o! feet short, but Walker’s fifteen-looter stopped on the lip of the hole. Non Nida who was level with Naismith at the end of the third round, started the filial round in great style, lie was out in par figures, but on the homeward journey, putted hadlv. Furrier’s last two rounds were lull of wild shots, and Rufus Stewart, who was leading after thirtv-six holes, tired badly to-day.
