The leading economic magazine “Diamond” says the Government's new wool policy is leading to optimism in industry in Mauchukuo, where it is pvhinneil to reach fifteen million sheep in thirty-five years to supply a. third of Japan’s requirements, and Japan where sheep are increasing rapidly though only sixty-one thousand ■ in 936. Meanwhile it .is expected the Government will cut wool imports by one half and insist on a mixture of twenty per cent, stable fibre, and raise the consumption tax on all wool fabrics.
