BOY SAVES THREE COMPANIONS..

TTOTORUA, September 9

Three Maori children. Wi Huna,aged 6, Maki Kingi, aged 6, and Tukrt Huna, aged 6, were rescued from drowning this morning by an older companion. Peti Humi, aged 13, when a small boat in which they wer« crossing Lake Rotoiti on the way to school suddenly sank.

Showing the greatest tenacity anil resource, Peti kept the three younger children, who were all unable to swim, afloat until .two canoes were paddled to their assistance. The boat was well out in the lake, and in very deep water, when tho accident occurred. None of the four was much the worse for tho experience, although all were suffering from shock.
