MOMBASA, August 26.

Arabs armed with swords and stones attacked District-Officer Leslie and Chief-Inspector Nelson. Both escaped. Leslie was saved by an African Ascari from death by a sword thrust. Eleven Arabs are known to have been killed but the exact casualties cannot be ascertained. Many were admitted t-o hospital with doctors treating others sccretlv. The trouble was the outcome of night' affrays between the Arabs and natives. In the native quarter there was shop breaking and looting to-day when nativ'es charged some Arabs. More trouble is feared.
