HOTEL FIRE
BOARDER BURNT TO DEATH

THAMES, August 14. Albert Fisher, .aged fifty-seven, a married man, w'as burned to death in a fire at the Salutation Hotel, early this morning. Fisher was evidently overcome by the dense smoke. He worked for many years in mines at Thames arid lived until recently at Tararu. Sixteen people were asleep in the hotel at the time and all but Fisher escaped. The building was owned by Mr F. A. Lacassie. The licensee is Mr Mr W.. , ili 1 1 t ,r H Harper. The hotel was erected over sixty years ago.
