OBITUARY

The death has occurred of Lieuten-ant-Colonel Cyril Ale Neile, formerly of the Royal Engineers, and better known under the pseudonym of “Sapper” as a writer of fiction. He was 49 years of age.—London cable.

The death occurred at the Duller Hospital on Saturday of John Jack, aged 49, of Alillerton, who was injured in a fall of coal at the Stockton Mine on August 3. Deceased, who was a native of Scotland, had worked at Alillerton for 12 years and lately was employed at the Stockton Aline. Ho is survived bv a widow.
