WELLINGTON, August 13. In the Petone Police Court, Ernest Owen Oliver, a hairdresser, of Petone■ Ernest Armstrong Plummer, a saloonkeeper, of Upper Hutt; and John Purvis, an agent, of Trentham, were convicted on charges of keeping premises as a common gaining house. Fines totalling £lO5 were imposed. The cases resulted from a raid made yesterday afternoon. WANGANUI CHARGES. WANGANUI, -August 13. For keeping common gaming booses, Melville Bernard Hooper was fined £2O, and Robert Baxter Murray was fined £lO, before Mr J. Salmon, S.M.
