GENEVA, August 11
San Salvador Republic has notified that it is withdrawing from the League of Nations, for economic reasons. This is the seventh Latin American State to withdraw during the past ten years.

The British Government announces General Franco’s naval commander admits that the planes which bombed the vessel British Corporal were under insurgent control.
BOMBER DRIVEN OFF
MADRID. August 11
The Government is harrassing the insurgents from the air and on land on the Aragon-Terual front, otherwise the situation is quiet. A plane bombed a Government destroyer convoying a. tanker and two merchantmen to Valencia. Tt was driven otf by « fighter from the shore.
