. WELLINGTON, August 12. General inference: The anticyclone which has been covering the Dominion for tile past few days, is ' now centred to the eastward, while a shallow area of relatively low pressure is moving on to the southern portion of the South Island. Pressure is, however, high over the wliole of Australian and New Zealand area.
The forecast is for light to moderate and variable winds with liortherlies predominating. Weather cloudy to overcast, and mild, with scattered, light to moderate rain, more especially in southern areas. Seas slight to moderate.
