SALVAGE OPERATIONS. LONDON, June 9. The salvage steamer Arphir, fitted with the latest apparatus, is at work on the Cunard liner Lusitania, which was sunk during the war off Cork. Under the tremendous weight of water the vessel is to be blasted asunder, and grabs will splash into tlie water to grip her portable cargo and raise it to the surface. Guiding the men operating the grabs will be Diver A. J. Jarratt. who made history last year, after the Lusitania was discovered, by bis claim to be the first man to go down to a depth of 312 feet in a flexible diving suit. Although alone in the depths, lie will be in constant telephone communication with the men on the surface, directing them where to place the depth charges by which the sides of the ship will be Mown out.
