A SEA MYSTERY

A SALVAGE CLAIM (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copy right). LONDON, May 17. A famous sea mystery, that of the sailing ship “Marie Celeste,” which was many years ago found derelict with all sails set, in the Atlantic, with her entire crew missing, will be again probed before Lloyd’s underwriters on Wednesday when Barge Captain Arthur Cocker, of Hull, will claim salvage money- for the Marie celeste. Cocker was a member of. the party from the ship Kentislunan (of which he was cabin boy) who boarded the 31arie Celeste. He claims to be the only living man possessing a first-hand connection with the mystery. He declares that he intends to produce hitherto undisclosed documents which ■were taken from the Marie Celeste’s cabin.

Cocker’s theory is that a member of the Marie Celeste’s company went berserk and killed two or three of the crew, after which he was himself killed, and that the remainder of the crew, became panicked anil took to the boats.
