AUSTRALIANS AT PHILADELPHIA PHILADELPHIA, May 15. In an exhibition tennis match on courts which were slow and bumpy due to overnight rain, Quist with crisp strokes and last footwork defeated Richards 6/3, 6/2, 6/2. Crawford found some difficulty at the net, but . defeated Sproule 12/10, and Bromwich 6/3, 6/2.
In a doubles' match. Crawford and Quist defeated Richards and Bromwich 6/3, 8/6.
POLAND ELIMINATED. PARIS, May 15. Tn the Davis Cup match at Warsaw, Czechoslovakia eliminated Poland. Heclit and Caska defeated Hebba and Toloezynski 6/1, 5/7, 6/1, 6/4. •At Brussels, Fischer (Switzerland) defeated Lacroix (Belgium) 6/4, 6/2, 8/6: Nayaert (Belgium) defeated Elmer (Switzerland) 13/11, 6/3, 6/3.
