Tbe Oamaru Jockey Club’s meeting concluded to-day in line weather. Tile track was slightly’ holding. Toe totalisator handled £14,049, compared with £9754 10s on the same day last year. The total for the meeting was £22,9(54 10s, compared with £17,291 10s last year.

H. W. Hibberd, rider of Ar rovvglen in the Waitaki Hack, was suspended for one month after he had been found guilty of careless riding. The penalty was imposed after the inquiry into interference with Natty, which was ridden by A. E. Ellis.

G. Gieseler, starter to the Club, was severely cautioned by the stewards of the club for not complying with Rule 280 of the Rules of Racing following on an inquiry into an accident on Thursday when the club’s autumn meeting opened. Gieseler was called before the stewards and asked to explain why he allowed Fiord to start from the rails position in the President’s Handicap, the principal race, when the horse had drawn No. 5 position at the barrier.
