CHRISTCHURCH, April 30
Damages of £4O 4s for injuries said to have been sustained during his employment, were claimed by David Sutherland, labourer, of Ashburton, from the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, Ltd., of Christchurch, in the Arbitration Court yesterday. Decision was reserved.

PICTURE COMPANY CASE
WELLINGTON, April 30,
The evidence having been concluded yesterday afternoon, the legal argument was taken in the Supreme Court to-day in the case in which the Masterton Picture and Entertainment Co., Ltd., has proceeded against William Robert Kemball, company director of Wellington. The company claimed recission of an alleged agreement between it and the defendant, who was, a director of the compaiiy.at the time, under which the company took 10,000 £1 shares in the Majestic Theatre (Wellington) Ltd. The company also sought, the of 'the* £IO,OOO paid, or £IO,OOO $ Decision was reserved.
LIQUOR CHARGE
CHRISTCHURCH, April 30
Robert Caldwell was fined 20s and ordered to pay costs for aiding and abetting some person or persons um known, in supplying liquor after hours. It was stated that Caldwell had telephoned the Market Hotel for six bottles of beer, and had been found coming away from the front door of the hotel with the beer.
FALSE PRETENCES
WELLINGTON, April 30.
Pleading guilty to two charges of obtaining £5 and £6 at Plimmerton and Greytown respectively, by false pretences, Harold Richardson, alias Kerr, alias Richards, alias Kirk, alias Frank Robinson, appeared before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M. His 'story in each case was that he needed the money to visit a sick parent.
Detective-Sergeant W. Kane said that the The Court on April 20 on six similar charges. Ho admitted his guilt freely when questioned.
The accused was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on each charge, the terms to be concurrent with the sentence ho is now serving.
THEFT CHARGE
CHRISTCHURCH, April 30
Rangi Martin was-sentenced to imprisonment for six months on a charge of stealing a pair of field glasses and ease, valued at £7 10s, the property of Samuel Murray Chaffey, manager of the Mount Possession run, near Mount Somers. Martin pleaded guilty to charges of stealing £5 in money from Richard Gallavan, and of stealing a watch pouch, valued at ss, the property of Chaffey, and on these he was convicted and discharged. Martin had a fist, including t.lieft and horse stealing, said Sub-Inspector D. A. Mac Lean.
