. .COLLAPSES AND DIES AT TANGI (Per Press AssqciatjQ^^^pjyight). GISBORNE,. January 20. A well-known Maori, Chief Taniati jPeivhairangi, aged seventy-two, n retired farmer, collapsed and died while making a speech at a tangi at Tokoinarii Bay Pa. ‘As deceased had previously been subject to fainting fits no immediate concern was felt but when a doctor was summoned lie pronounced life extinct, death being due due to heart failure.
