One is the new soon,lied “Dough Nut” Radio Beam Finder, giving better directions in foggy and stormy weather. The other is the high shock absorption landing gear, which is to enable a heavy machine to land safely after dropping one thousand feet a. minute. ' PLANE FALLS INTO SEA. A GIRL BROWNED. BRISBANE, January 19. A North Queensland Airways monoplane fell into the sea near Double Island to-day. One passenger, Mabel v ehit)ke. aged sixteen, was lulled. Uor brother, Fred Sebipke, aged thirteen years, was seriously injured. ’1 lie pilot, -‘■-ick Aloore, was injured. The pilot, by clinging to the floating ' ’plane managed to keen the hoy from drowning until assistance arrived. CALIFORNIA CRASH. LOS ANGELES, January 18. A fourth of the passengers injured in tlm air crash cabled on January 13 has died.
