4 WOOL SALE

RECORD PRICE OF 37id. (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, January 19. At to-day's wool sales, there was a very strong and general competition, with a particularly keen demand on American account for specialty wools. An Australian record price of 3"£d. was paid for ten bales from Yass. A crowded sale room applauded the announcement. A Yorkshire buyer waged a brisk bidding duel before a French buyer triumphed, and gained the offering. JAPAN’S PLAN. TOKYO. January lf>. The Wool Industry Control Association met at Osaka and sent a deputation to Tokyo to appeal to the Government to relax its nlan to admit only Australian wool by not sanctioning credits for other wool under the new exchange control regulations.
