An estimate prepared by the Census Bureau places the population of. the [Jnited States at the end of July at 128,429,000.
This represents an increase oi 908,000 since the corresponding date a year ago. The most populous States are: New York, 12.985,000, Pennsylvania, 10,136,000, and Illinois, 7,845,000. Nevada is at the bottom of the list, with only 100,000.
