Y.R.C, MEETING CONCLUDES

HARVEST FOR N.Z. HORSES

MELBOURNE, November 8

.The weather was showery, hut there was a fair attendance for the concluding day of the Y.R.C. meeting.

.New Zealand-bred horses, have won £10,460 in stakes during the Flemingtan carnival. Shakespeare finished strongly to neat the pacemaker, Riddle, in the Batman Stakes. International and Black Friar failed to show up.

Fearnought led always in the Flemington Stakes, and won brilliantly Silver Bond, Sunny Morn, and Royal Quex were never dangerous. Queen of Song, brilliantly ridden by Jennings beat the pacemaker, suioherie, in the last stride in the Fisher Plate in a popular win. Silver Ring in this race made his best \ictorian effort. Prince Quex failed to stay. Hot Shot finished well to beat the pacemaker, Tapestry, in the Y.R.C. Handicap, Padishah, was a fair fourth Amalia was an unlucky third.

Dilpurra’s stamina prevailed in the Steeples, for which Cynical Kid was a popular pick, but was hopelessly placed, and fell a mile from home. Princess Pam finished well iu the Ottawa Stakes. Bazaar disappointed. On Parade made a wonderful effort in the Fnal Handicap. He was the last to enter the straight, Pladie also made a good effort. Onewhetu and Gay Blonde were never dangerous. Results.

Batman Stakes —Shakespeare K Riddle 2, Boongarry 3. IVon by a neck. Time 1.375.

Flemington Stakes— Fearnought 1, Harborage 2, Nightguard 3. Won by a neck. Time I.o}.
