p KANIERI CLUB : A meeting of the committee was held • last evening. Miss Learmont presided over a full committee. The minutes were read and confirmed, correspondence read and ' approved. The balance sheet for the Labour night ball was adopted. Several accounts were passed for payment. The usu.a.l Boxing Night ball will be :beld'on*the December 28', as the 26th falls on a Saturday. The Rhythm Orchestra is to be' engaged. The' opening day , tor the Club will take place'on Saturday when a combined doubles tourney will be held. For the vacancy of patron, Mr R. Whi ley , was nominated and unanimously elected. The' secretary was istructed to arrange, for the erection of an umpire stand for the courts.
