“We seht a cablegram to the customs ' authorities in Australia soon* after the Wanganella left. Sydney for Auckland;” said the Hon. M. Fagaii, laeiing-Minister of Customs, commenting on the Canberra message regarding Mrs Freer.
•-“We"received a reply, intimating the liature of the reasons for the Commonwealth permission for Mrs Freer /to- land in Australia.
, “As/ those reasons wWe no concern of ours, we decided to allow her to land in New Zealand. I cannot divulge what those reasons were,” Mr Fagan added. “It is not correct to say we received no communication.’’
