The competitors are M. Andre Jat'y and M. Arnoux, flying . a Gaudron Coeland aeroplane, j M. Eeon-challe-Bril and M. Henry, in a similar aeroplane., and M. Michael Detroyat and M. Agnus, flying a Brequet Fulger. There is one British entry, but be is unlikely to start. When the race was first planned in'* • 1934, it was regarded as a preliminary .test, for a round the world race in 1937. These plans are at present shelved.
