The general manager of the Go.eminent Life jnsurauce Office adxised the September meeting of the Dannevirke Hospital Board that his board was unable to entertain the hospital board's application for a building loan of £2(7.000.

This caused the board’s chairman to comment that the department would not lend money at 3j per cent,, which he .'considered inconsistent- wf|h* .the government’s policy. On his motion it was decided to take the matter up with the Prime blister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) and the Minister for Finance (tlie Hon, W. Nash). - *
