At Addington market to-ctav, the entry of store sheep comprised a smaller offering, being 1901) head. Hoggets predominated, and included many good lines. There was little attractiveness in the rest of the entry. There was a better attendance of buyers. This, with in shorter yarding, created a keen demand. The spring lambs comprised 1-M head. Competition was keen, and all; grades, on the average were 2s a head firmer. The quality generally was excellent. ’ There was a slightly lighter yarding of mutton. The quality on tlie whole was good. It was a keen sale from the outset. Last week’s decline of Is per head was fully recovered, with instances of sheep being 2s firmer. There was a particularly large offering of beef, comprising 509 head. The quality was outstanding. There was a fine showing pt bullocks. The yarding exceeded requirements. There was an I average drop in the prices of cows and heifers of 15s to 20s per head and steers were up to 2os per head easier. Good prime beef averaged 06s to 3Ss per hundred lbs, and sold in some instances to 89s ; medium 33s 6d to 355. 6d; ordinary 30s to 32s 6d; inferior from 255. There was a large offering of fat pigs.- porkers predominating. It -was a sound sale, nevertheless, at a, slightly lower basis.. Baconers were inclined to ease. Porkers fetched 36s 6d to 39s 6d, heavy 40s to 44s 6d, extra to 50s 6d, baconers 52s 6d to 58s 6d, heavier to £3 14s 6d. extra to £4 13s 6d.
