PREMIER’S VIEWS

RECENT AIR CONFERENCE, i (Per Preßs Association—Copyright). ■ ' \. ■ ' i. WELLINGTON, October 6.1 Mr F. G. L. Bertram, Deputy-Direo tor of Civil Aviation for the- British Air Ministry, leaves Auckland by the Aorangi on Tuesday on . his return to England. He is now visiting relatives at the Bay of Islands. : ' *> Discussing Mr Bertram’s visit, in an interview this evening, the Prime Minister expressed the opinion that nothing but good would come of it, Mr Bertram had taken part in discussions on the future of commercial air services over the Tasman-and the Pacific but the recommendations which developed from those discussions were still confidential. In addition, Mr Bertram had conferred with "the New Zealand authorities on all points regarding the expansion of internal air services in the Dominion. His report in that direction would, doubtless, be available to the Government in the near future.

Mr Savage stated that if Mr Bertram left by the Aorangi, he would be travelling .in company with the Minister of Finance, Mr Nash'. Advantage would probably be taken of that to continue the discussions on various aspects of the Empire air mail and commercial aviation policy.
