The New Zealand horses which have accepted for the Toorak Handicap aie —Cuddle, Gay Blonde, Queen of Song, Palatinate, Silver Jubilee, Inheritance. The above lists for both races are subject of inter-State scratchings. The Inter-State scratchings for.tne Caulfield Guineas are: —Mark Antony, Borrowed Plumes, Brazilian, Grand Bov, Ilium, Gold Red, Shelagh, Royal Helena. For the Toorak Handicap interstate scratchings are:—Cuddle, silver Jubilee, Gay Blonde, Inheritance. Golden Promise proved to have recovered from its recent injury by galloping a brilliant mile in 1.46 at Epsom to-day. Shakespeare will arrive at Melbourne to-morrow, in view of the Caulfield Guineas. Silver Standard will arrive on Friday, and will be prepared for the Caulfield Cup. Prittle Prattle is coming for the Cantala Stakes. Conaudale, who is suffering from a ricked muscle, showed a slight improvement to-dav, but it is still doubtful whether he will start in the Caulfield Cup. SYDNEY NOTES. SYDNEY, October 6. Gold Rod is now experiencing ligament trouble, and will not be raced again till next Autumn. Capris has been rchandicapped seven lbs. to 8.4 for the Caulfield Cup. The “Herald” commenting on the Metropolitan says: Young Crusader recorded one of the most remarkable wins yet witiessed in the Metropolitan. Taking full advantage of his light weight he had all the other runners struggling hard from the halfmile.
