JAPAN WORRIED

SOARING PRICES FOR WOOL

(United Pr«ss Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copywright.)

TOKYO, October 5

The newspaper “Asliai” says that because of the Japanese boycott of Australian wool, prices nave soared elsewhere, and so far this season Japstn has actually bought only 69,000 bales of South African and South American wool. Worried industrialists are proposing a drastic blanket reduction of output which, however, is unacceptable to the Government. Consequently it is anticipated that industrialists will demand that the Government substantially indemnify them for losses arising from the boycott of Australia. TOKIO, October 5.

Amaul stated that Australia’s latest proposals for a trade settlement were unsatisfactory.
