WESTLAND V. SYDENHAM. Tlie Westland representative team to meet Sydenham at Cass Square on Saturday is as follows: Full-back—Aguew. Three-quarters—Pfalilert, Smith and Muir. Five-eighths—West and Roberts. Half—-Davidson. Forwards—M. Kelly, B. Kelly, Thorpe, Aitkeu, King, Walker, Anderson, Garden. Emergencies—Hacks, E. Boyd, L. Morgan, forwards, Chinn, Buckingham. WESTLAND SUB-UNION MEETING, j The Westland Rugby Sub-Union met last evening, when there were present Messrs,.!. C. Stafford (chairman), R. Collett, O. L. -Harper, A. Cutbush, C. Reese, W. Kearns, D. Breeze, A. Stevenson, F. McGregor, R. Webb, and D. R. Dowell. The following fixtures for Saturday were approved:— Seniors—Westland v. Sydenham, Cass Square No. 1, 2.45 p.m. (Mr 11. Staines). Juniors—Arahura v. Kiwi, Cass Square No. 1, 1.20 p.m. (Mr J. Coulson); Ross v. School, at Cass Square, 3 p.m. (Mr. W. Gale) ; Kokatalii v. Excelsior, Cass Square, 1.20 p.m. (Air W. Eastgate)'. The Canterbury Union wrote advising that the Sydenham senior team would visit Hokitika on Saturday. It was decided that the visitors be j offered up to a maximum of £lO of | the nett gate. | An application by M. Connolly (Excelsior) for transfer to Star Club (Greymouth) was approved. J. R. Butland wrote advising he would be unable to continue refereeing this season. The meeting decided that! a letter of thanks be forwarded to Mr ' Butland, expressing appreciation of his services to the Sub-Union. Nominations were called for, referees for the representative fixture on Saturday, Messrs H. Staines, W. Gale, J. Coulson and W. Eastgate being nom--3 inated. After two ballots, Mr Staines • was appointed. L. Ryan’s application for reinstatement from the league code was recommended to the West Coast Union. Air A. Cutbush was appointed manager of the Westland team for Satur- ! day. The team was instructed to meet at the Central Hotel at 2 p.m., any player being unable to play to inform the selector immediately.
