Continuous rain was driven before a high wind, and the ground was a quagmire. CHRISTCH URCH CH AM PI ONSHIP CHRISTCHURCH, July 18. Rugby football matches were played to-day in mild weather, the grounds being in good order. The senior championship, game, between Sunnyside and Od Bovs practically clinched the senior championship for Sunnyside, who beat Old Boys by 4 points to 3. Both 'scores were from goals. Other results were; Sydenham 17, beat Christchurch. 9; Athletic 13, beat Linwood 8, Albion 14 heat Unversity 8.
