Mr Arthur Lilly, A.R.C.0., will be the adjudicator in the vocal and instrumental' music sections of the West Coast Competitions Society’s Festival, which opens at Greymouth on Ai gust IS. The appontment of Mr Raymond Ferner, the Mayor of Mt. Albert (Auckland) and a member of the law firm or Melville, Ferner and Broun, as a Stipendiary Magistrate, was announced by the Minister of Justice on Saturday. The Minister stated it would be about a month before Mr Ferner could take up his new duties, and it was likely that his circuit would be on the West Coast of the South Island.
