SPEEDBOAT TO THE RESCUE. MELBOURNE, June 10. A speedboat dashed from Point Cook training school to-day and rescued Cadet Carl R. Kelaher, when an Avro training aeroplane of the Royal Australian Air Force was (forced dow about three-quarters of a' mil© "from the shore'.

The speedboat found Kelaher uninjured and sitting on the machine, which was floating in deep-water. ' The engine of the machine, which was one of several used on a training flight, cut out while it was 2000. feet, over Port Phillip Bay.

It was towed into shallow water, and will be salvaged to-morrow.
