FUNCTIONS POSTPONED

CHRISTCHURCH, December 16
The governors of Lincoln College have decided to postpone till next year the capping ceremony and laying of the foundation stone of the new demonstration theatre-, which was arranged for 'to-morrow.
. 'This announcement follows an incidjepit ycwifierning which members of the board held an inquiry at the college LGtiwotk. .Nothing was made public regarding .the affair, but it is freely stated a member of the staff had been assaulted by students. The annual college dinner was to have been held to-night, and the cupping ceremony, now postponed, was to have been held • to-morrow.
