Conditions were 1 fine yesterday when the Southern Cricket Sub-Association s competition was continued. WOODSTOCK DEFEAT RIMU,
Woodstock defeated Rimu by six runs. Rimu scored 92 (J. O’Connor 23, S. Ogilvie 15, Candlish 15, Shanahan 14) and 68 (O’Connor 20, Growcott. 13 not out, Aitken 10). Bowling for Woodstock, Bannister' took 6 for 27, and 6 f0r.31. Woodstock’s totals were 71 (Griffiths 22, E. Wells 11) and 95 (Bannister 24, Stoop 20, Griffiths 18, and E. Wells 11). Bowling for Rimu in the first innings, Candlish took 4 for 10, while, in the second innings, Shanahan took 4 for 7, and Candlish 4 for 35.
RUATAPU DEFEAT ROSS B,
Ruatapu defeated Ross B by 76 runs. In the first innings Ruatapu made. 91 (Johnston 1?, Dundas 18, Wilson 16, Jeffcott 13). Schofield taking 5 for 5. They mide 62 for 8 (declared) in the second innings (Campbell 26). O’Connell took 7'for 22. Ross scored 53 (O’Connell 16) and 24. For Ruatapu, Wilson took 4 for 21, and 7 for 5. and Johnston 4 for 16, and 3 for 12.
HOKITIKA A BEAT HOKITIKA B
The A’s- defeated the B’s by nn-inn-ings and 39 runs. The A’s scored 126 after seven wickets were down for 30 (Baird 41, G. Stapleton 33 not out, Johnson 15, Collett 15). Fleming took 5 for 21 for the B’s. : Hokitika B scored 43, (Gardyne 17, Leslie 14), Thomas taking 4 for 12. and Morgan 2 for 10. In the second (they, tmade 50, (Hughes 14, Fleming 13). Thomas took 5 for 19, and Johnston 3 for none.
