N.Z. PRODUCE
PRESENT MARKETING WEAKNESS
HAMILTON, December I'd
A two-hours’ address on the operations of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Hoard was given to the Waikato executive of the Farmers’ Union today by Mr €. A. Marchant, of Stratford; a member of the board. A major portion of the addiess was taken in committee. Mr Marchant dealt exhaustively with the weaknesses at present existing in connection with the marketing of New Zealand dairy produce, which was sometimes handled as many as 11 times before it reached the consumer. He outlined the advantages the producers would gain by the group marketing proposals the board hoped to put into operation on August 1 next.
The meeting passed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Marchant and assured the Dairy Board of its sympathy and support in connection with its aim to improve the marketing conditions for New Zealand dairy produce.
