FRED PERRY AND ENGAGEMENT LONDON, July 2;;. In reply to week-end rumours that lie is engaged to Miss Helen Vinson, an American actress at present working in Englilt film studios, E. J. Perry, •the world’s tennis champion, said: “We. are not engaged. We are just friends,” Miss Vinson said: “Anything is possible.” i Perry and Miss Vinson were at Eastbourne yesterday, smiling and obviously interested in each other. They met : in Hollywood apd arrived in London by the same ship. Miss Vinson Hew to Brussels when Perry was playing there and accompanied him back ,by aeroplane. They celebrated Perry’s Wimble- , don success together and have been to , many. theatres and parties.
