GAMING HOUSE
FINES TOTAL £175 (Per Press Association, Copyright). WELLINGTON, June 28. Fines totalling £175 were imposed on seven Chinese following the raid on a den in Hainiug Street last night. For permitting the premises to be used A. H. Low was fined £75 and the others, for being on the premises with out lawful excuse, from £l2 10s to £3O. From the evidence 'it appeared that when tho raid took place the Chinese made desperate efforts to escape and Low was cut by the glass of a window and bad to be attended to by a doctor at the police station, several stitches being put in his hand. One man actually get away.
