WELLINGTON CONFERENCE /Per Press Association, Copyright). WELLINGTON, June 28. The sixteenth annual conference of t h e Bank Officers’ Guild concluded yesterday. The annual report showed the membership to be 2861, a little short ot ninety per cent of the staffs. The operations of the Investment Society and Group Assurance scheme had assumed large proportions, the former having a membership of 1600, and tnc latter 1600, with insurances reaching almost £1,000,000. To date, 176 members had obtained the diploma in banking. A remit was carried declaring loyalty to the banks, and affirming adherence to the existing system.
The following officers were elected : President, Mr V*C. S. Edwards (Wellington) : vice-presidents, (Messrs H. W. L. Lane (Auckland), H. J. Edwards (Wellington), J. E. G v udgeon (Christchurch), E. J. Ottrey '.Dunedin) ; executive committee, Messrs D. p. Sullivan, C. S. R. Man dor (National Bank of New Zealand), J. Stenhouse (Commercial Bank of Australia), R. T. Thompson (Bank of New South Wales), E. C. Little (Bank of Australasia), D. R. Matheson (Union Bank of Australia), 1). J. Smith, R. C. Edgar, and A. R. Frethey (Bank of New Zealand).
