GIRL’S FRAUD
CYCLE DEALERS DUPED (Per Press Association, Copyright). HAVVERA, June 27. Practically ' every cycle dealer in Rawer,a is bemoaning the fact that h e ■recently fell «i victim to the wiles ot a young woman, and paid over good money for a bicycle which the woman had no right to sell. The woman could not have been more than 19 years of age. She went into a shop and told a tale of how she was going to Wanganui, -ami did not want to have the inconvenience of taking the bicycle with her on the back of her baby ear. She asked the shopkeeper what he could d° about it, and if he would buy the cycle. He agreed to buy it for 12s 6d. Tlie girl then left the shop, to return a few minutes later with a bicycle, and the money was paid over. She departed not for Wanganui, but to another cycle shop. Three more dealers were caught with a. similar tale, and with the same result. before it was discovered that all of the cycles had been stolen from the street. The woman, who has not since .been located, obtained in all about fou 1 pounds sterling.
