BRITISH TREASURY BILLS. RUGBY, June 21. The total amount applied for in tenders for £40,000,000 in Treasury bills was £54,655,900, and the maximum amount was allotted in hills at thiee months. The average rate per cent, was 16s 0.69 d compared with 13s 10.46 d a week ago.

The fortnightly sale at Arahura yesterday was attended by the usual buyers, who were offered an entry of 50 lambs, 74 fat sheep and 48 head of cattle., The beef auction was by no means a good one > many of the pens being little better than stores. Good ox beef made to 23/- per hundred and best heifer beef to 19/6. W. Jeffries and Co. sold a s follows: For Hy. Mehnrry 13 fat wether at 26/6, 16 light ewes at 12/6 and 35 fat lambs at 16/-.
