AUTOGIRO COURSE
FLYING- OFFICER’S WORK ' WIT AN GAR FT, March 28. Advice that Flying-Officer D. W. Morrish, R'oyal Air Force, has been selected to undergo a special course in the flying and maintenance of the eiorva autogiiro, has been received by his parents .Mr and Mrs G. H. Morrisli, 'of Whaigarei. The autogiro is a new type of aircraft recently purchased by the Royal Air Force for experimental purposes. Flying-Officer Morrish is erne of the first pilots in the Royal Air Force to be trained to fly this tpye of aircraft. Flying-Officer Morrish completes his short service commlsskn of five years in the Royal Air Force early next month. He proposes to make a trip through Ireland and parts of Europe, ciot previously visited, before leaving for las home in Whargarei. Mr G. IT. ‘Morrish, a native of Kumara, was for many years a telegraphist, stationed at Hokitika. Tie retired from the service some years ago.
