The Minister of Finance, Mr Coates, stated to-day he could not see his way dear to hold a further conference with the special .committee set up by th“ Associated Chambers of Commerce. He said he already heard heat’d and noted tlm representations of business men in various centres ,and had received helpful advice from a large number of people who were anxious to assist, the Government in its efforts to stabilise the mortgage position and to help farmers in their serious plight.
