JEWISH WEALTH
MONEY SENT TO PALESTINE.
LONDON, Jan. 21. It has been estimated that the total amount of Jewish money sent- into Palestine since the beginning of the British administration is some fifty million pounds sterling. 'lbis has been through the agency ol Jewish public organisations and institutions, as well as from private capital. It is obvious that the Jews in Palestine desire material prosperity as a part of their national life. There ar P Jews who regard Palestine as their destiny, and keep up the old faith, and there are others who have only come there through circumstances like the revolution in Germany. Air Israel Cohen, of the Zionist Organisation, lias said that modern Palestine springs from the conviction that the Jews are a nation, and that they can best fulfill their destiny by reviving their corporate life upon a national basis in their ancestral country. Some people linvj. criticised the Jewish business instincts showing ,in Pehn.Line, hut, as Air Isreal Cohen has said, the ideal of the Jewish national hom P is more likely to find realisation through material prosperity than adversity.
