THREE APPOINTED

TO COMMISSION

CONTROL OF AGRICULTURE.

WELLINGTON, January 23. The personnel of the Executive Commission of Agriculture was announced to-day. The Prime Minister (the Hon. G. W. Forbes) seated the Oovernor-General had been pleased to make the following appointments:

Justice Frazer (president of the Arbitration Court). Mr David Jones (chairman of the N.Z. Meat Producers’ Board).

Mr George Andrew Duncan (secretary of the Hawera Dairy Co). Mr Justice Frazer is. to be deputychairman of the Commission, the Minister of Agriculture being .the statutory chairman. Mr Forbes expressed his confidence in the qualifications of the appointees for discharging the duties and responsibilities of the Commission, and said that he felt sure that the appointments would give general satisfaction. Mr Justice Frazer’s conection as chairman w iH» the Dairy Industry Commission had given him a thorough insight into the difficulty and the problems with which the dairy farmers was faced at present. Mr David Jones’ long association with the Meat Board eminently fited him for 'his appointment and Mr Duncan was generally recognised as a competent authoritv on matters affecting the dairy industry.

Mr Forbes said that the appointment of a successor to Mr Justice Frazer, as Judge of the Arbitration Court, would be announced shortly.
