WELLINGTON, January 21. On the departure of the Duke of Gloucester from Lyttelton on the completion of the official tour of _New Zealand, the Governor-General despatched the following telegram to the “T beg. with my respectful duty, to inform Your Maesty, that His richness completed this evening ais official tour of New Zealand leaving L\ ttelton harbour in the cruiser Australia, amid scenes of great enthusiasm. Thc tour has been most .successful. His Highness Ims won hearts, by his gracious, friendly sympathy with all classes throughout the Dominion and with their various pursuits and interests.” His Majesty has been pleased to send thc following reply. “I was very glad to receive your telegram on the departure of my son from Now Zealand, and to hear lie is in good health and spirits. The Queen and I warmly appreciate the enthusiastic reception he has received on all ’occasions and thank you for the very kind words m which vou refer to the large share lus personality .ami’ effort gave all classes throughout the Dominion. At the same time wo recognise that much of the success was due to the care ano forethought bestowed by you and your Government upon the arrangements. We .are most grateful to you and Lady Bledislnc for your kindness and hospitality to our son and staff through their stay.” The Duke of Gloucester has signified his intention of sending to the Gm-ernor-Goneral, a farewell message the departure from the shores of New Zealand of His Highness in the IT.M. A.S. Australia, due to leave the Bay of Islands on January 20.

WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. Although the Duke of Gloucester officially ended his tour of Dominion with hi s departure from Lyttelton m warship Australia last night, it will be another week before Hi s ._ Highness leaves Now Zealand for Fiji, en route to England. The cruiser, Avith Prince Heniy aboard is timed to arrive at Russell at 7 o’clock on Thursday morning. On Friday, he visits Trounson Park, and Waipowa State Forest. He spends the night at Opononi. On Saturday, he proceeds to Onialiuta and Kirikiri, and attends divine service at Paihia on Sundav morning, and in the afternoon accompanies Lord- BledislOb to historic spots at Waitangi. On Monday, there will he big game fishing. The Anstraia i s scheduled to sail for Fiji at 9.30 on Tuesday morning With a few exceptions, members of the New Zealand official party, which has disbanded, will not accompany His Highness north -
